PA - Full Time for CT Surgery

• Specialty: Physician Assistant (Surgical) for CT Surgery Group - assisting with CV Surgery and Thoracic Surgery
• Schedule: Full time Monday - Friday with rotating call
• Call Schedule: Pool with other PA providers for weeknights and weekends
• Practice Detail: Joining busy CT Surgery Group to support physicians and other midlevels.  Assisting with Cardiac surgery and Lung surgery, radial artery harvest, vein harvesting, line placement and other critical care skills required.
• EMR System: Cerner and Athena

• Location: Birmingham Alabama

UAB St. Vincent's is looking for a Physician Assistant  for our CT Surgery Group.

Responsibilities:

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Required Credential(s):

• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior
  to hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart
  Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12
  Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
