NNP - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - NICU

• Sign On Bonus: $10,000

• Schedule: 24 hour shifts (approx 1 every 4-5 days)
• Hospital: UAB St Vincent's
• Location: Birmingham, AL

The NP will be responsible for overseeing and collaborating with the care team to create a plan of care for acutely ill neonates. 

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart
     Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained within 1 Month
    (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Can be hired with a temporary Assistant Physician (AP)
     license. Need to provide new license within 30 days.
•  Preferred Credential(s):                                                                                                                                   • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
