Under general supervision, to perform purchasing functions and any other activities related to the procurement of goods and services for any UAB Health System entity and participate in the contracting and value analysis process. To interact with vendors and departments to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and service levels are met and/or exceeded.
1. Reviews, processes, and/or approves requisitions and payment requests to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory laws.
2. Ensure all orders are processed and acknowledged by the vendor utilizing system tools and other resources. (Identify and resolve any issues with order placement or confirmation.)
3. Communicates with the appropriate party(s) and/or resolve issues related to pricing discrepancies, back orders, and product discontinuations.
4. Verifies order delivery, utilizing system tools and other resources. (Coordinate with the end user and MM Department.)
5. Coordinates with the AP Department to resolve any issues such as vendor matches, duplicate shipments, etc.
6. Functions as Customer Service Representative (end user requests/answering the telephone/responding to emails/etc.)
7. Utilizes problem solving skills and suggests process improvements and operational efficiencies to increase departmental productivity.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or Procurement required Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
