The Imaging File Room Associate is responsible for maintaining the organization, security, and accessibility of imaging files (digital and/or physical). This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely retrieval and proper archiving of diagnostic imaging and related documents, supporting the efficiency and quality of patient care and/or administrative operations.
Receive, catalog, and file imaging records such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other diagnostic images.
Retrieve imaging files upon request from authorized personnel while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
Scan and upload physical documents/images into electronic systems (e.g., PACS, EMR).
Maintain accurate logs and tracking systems for borrowed and returned records.
Conduct routine audits of imaging records for quality assurance and proper documentation.
Coordinate with imaging technicians, radiologists, and medical staff to fulfill file requests efficiently.
Handle and dispose of outdated or duplicate records in accordance with organizational policies.
Ensure file room cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance.
Assist with the transition from paper to digital records if applicable.
