Imaging Assistant

The Imaging File Room Associate is responsible for maintaining the organization, security, and accessibility of imaging files (digital and/or physical). This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely retrieval and proper archiving of diagnostic imaging and related documents, supporting the efficiency and quality of patient care and/or administrative operations.

• Receive, catalog, and file imaging records such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other diagnostic images.

• Retrieve imaging files upon request from authorized personnel while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.

• Scan and upload physical documents/images into electronic systems (e.g., PACS, EMR).

• Maintain accurate logs and tracking systems for borrowed and returned records.

• Conduct routine audits of imaging records for quality assurance and proper documentation.

• Coordinate with imaging technicians, radiologists, and medical staff to fulfill file requests efficiently.

• Handle and dispose of outdated or duplicate records in accordance with organizational policies.

• Ensure file room cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance.

• Assist with the transition from paper to digital records if applicable.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted. Required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
