Accountant

• Department: General Finance
• Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm, hybrid
• Hospital: UAB St. Vincent's Ridge Park, Birmingham, AL

Performs planning, coordination, and administration of general accounting activities.

• Prepares and maintains journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and subsidary ledgers.
• Assists with the preparation of the annual budget and strategic plans as required. May produce financial statements and budget-to-actual reports. Prepares audit and tax work papers for assigned areas.
• Prepares, analyzes, and maintains trend information. Analyzes reports and financial statements to
  identify significant fluctuations in operating trends. Compiles summary reports for management use.
• Administers performance improvement program, performance evaluations, competencies and department orientation completion.
• Maintains communication and coordination with other accounting team members to gather financial information used to prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.

LIcensure:

• Accountant licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
