Position Overview

  • Department: Behavioral Health - Adult Psych - Acute
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00p-11:00p
  • Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's East - Trussville

What You Will Do

Coordinate patient intake activities and resources.

  • Evaluate severity of illness for all elective, direct and urgent admissions to determine appropriate level of patient care.
  • Review physician orders for clinical appropriateness / completeness and proper admission status.
  • Coordinate education and development of internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of intake review and approval process. 
  • Conduct complex clinical review for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests for medical necessity.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and required professional licensure at time of hire.
