Position Overview

 

  • Department: Rehab Services  
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Chilton

What You Will Do

Assess patient and designs the appropriate plan of care.

  • Administer and evaluate tests of musculoskeletal, neurological and physiological responses to determine functioning.
  • Develop appropriate treatment plans based on an patient evaluation.
  • Design and fabricate orthotics and adaptive equipment. Initiate and perform treatments through the use of exercise, manual therapy, physical agents and rehabilitation.
  • Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Alabama Board of Occupational Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
