Medical Records Gov Auditor - Health Information Management

To develop and conduct quality audits related to Medical Records Management.

• Develops quality audits of data and processes related to Integrity of the Medical Record and
  Medical Records Management across UAB Medicine.
• Assists in the development of efficient, effective audit tools and data models in collaboration with appropriate technical groups, leveraging technology wherever possible.
• Validates audits developed.
• Conducts quality audits of data and processes related to chart scanning of records within an EHR for MRG team members and other UAB Health System locations as needed.
• Compiles and analyzes audit findings. Notes trends and patterns in audit results. Troubleshoots root cause of issues in collaboration with MRG end users.
• Develops summary reports to communicate findings to leadership and others as appropriate.
• Provides education when necessary to UAB staff and MRG leadership.
• Participates in writing/ updating policies and procedures related to chart management auditing.
• Works closely with MRG Manager/Sr Director to assist in improving documentation in the medical record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: 

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience in a medical field required, or 10 years of relevant experience working closely with medical records within an EHR required.
