Position Overview

  • Department: Pharmacy
  • Schedule: PRN  Rotating Days, evenings, nights (days 7a - 4p, evenings 3p - 8p, weekends primarily days) 
  • Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

What You Will Do

Perform the duties of a staff pharmacist under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

  • Under direct supervision, maintain proper narcotic documentation and ensure proper distribution of narcotic medications.
  • Under direct supervision, ensure appropriate selection of dosing, administering and monitoring of medication.
  • Dispense medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas. May compound medications.
  • Assist pharmacists with maintaining and monitoring patient profiles. Provide medication information and education to medical staff and patients.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma equivalency and enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline.
